In 3 1/2 mo trying to deal with DXO support I specifically suggested that they look at the V3 and V4 code where is inserts the reboot request and then removes it when complete (since v3 installer works perfectly on my machine). The problem is Windows uninstaller won't touch it as there is a "pending reboot".

I realize that most people running Windows 10 seem able to install Nik Collection 4 just fine. I know this doesn't directly help but it is not a universal problem with Windows. I downloaded the trial, removed V2 first as per the instructions, and installed V4. I know people say, 'That's a Windows error,' but the fact that I don't get it when installing anything else makes me think DxO is the real problem, not some Windows component.

FWIW I have had no problems installing DxO's PhotoLab 5 Elite (all versions), ViewPoint 3.2, and FilmPack 6.1 Elite, or any other software. The installer crashes out with the same error message at 99%. Thanks for the suggestion John, but for me also, version 4.3 changed nothing. Support was unable to resolve this after 3 1/2 mo. Does not install v4 though it says "finished". Deletes V3, requests reboot, and again each time the machine is restarted. So I could believe it's either-or both!Īll other software I use, including Dxo PL4 Elite works 100 % stable in Win 11, so in this case I suspect DXO. FWIW, I say that as somebody who paid for, but cannot successfully install, DxO Nik Collection 4 I get error messages that DxO says are a Windows problem, but I have not encountered with any other software, including multiple installations since this problem arose. It will be interesting to see whether Windows 10 users experience problems. IOW, the problem may well be DxO-but it could also be MS. Would I sound horribly cynical if I were to suggest some nagging suspicion that Windows 11 is still in truth at the beta-testing level, and might well take another year or more before becoming a really good, stable OS?

If any of the new features are worth an upgrade I do not know yet, but I can not upgrade before they fix the stability of their product. I have the trial version up and running, but have already experienced 3 crashes on my WIndows 11 PC.
